Am a bit sick of the superpubs in Dublin, but when you get out of the city centre you find a lot of dodgy places. Quinns of Drumcondra was recomended to me - what's it like?

Can't answer your question but I do recommend O'Neills in Pearse Street.  It is a lovely traditional pub.  There are not many left.

Tig Neachtains in Galway is a great place for a winter pint in front of fire - if you get in early tho as it gets packed quickly. Not the biggest place n all.

Another comfy guinness drinkin sunday papers reading spot is Walsh's on Manor Street, and you gotta love Ryan's opp the Dice Bar.

Coziest pub - is that the smallest pub in Ireland. It's got to be the Dawson Lounge on Dawson St in Dublin. It's a downstairs pub, seats about 30 people if even. Had many a night of good crack there as a student. It's called blacks now I think, but easy to find...

But Smith's on Haddington Road in D4 is still one of the nicest bars for a winter drink, especially before the rugby.

Pubs are dying in Ireland, particularly rural Ireland. The new drink driving pubs are going to kill them off altogether. Well done Bertie, Charlie before ya. Grasping, thick politicians who've destroyed the goodness and promoted greed in this once-great country.

It used to be known as bongo Ryans and I don't know why.

But it's Ryans of Parkgate Street. Fabulous snugs - they haven't kept them all, but there's enough of them and great food. Nice place for lunch before you head for the west at heuston station - it's just across the liffey on the way up to the Phoenix park on the right

The Big Tree in Drumcondra is sort of an old-style superpub, if that makes sense. It's big, but really nicely laid out inside and defo one of the better pubs in the area.

Just remembered. At Christmas time, if you're in the Clifden area, go to Renvyle house for delicious soup and a glass of guinness. Really really cosy. Fires and great family atmosphere. Recommend it. There aren't really any decent cosy pubs in area

Yip, Cosy, not cozy. Is that right. Seems to be two spellings

Dan Lowrys on MacCurtain St in Cork is a fantastic little place, along with Nancy Spain's on Barrack St. It's jsut a pity they are so far away from each other.

Slattery's in Rathmines is a really nice place and the best in the area. Not much else around there though.
